This Refund Policy (“Policy”) governs refunds and cancellations for bookings made through Portugal Tattoo (“the Platform”), operated by Drifter Apps Unipessoal Limited (VAT:PT515983128), hereinafter DRIFTER.

Drifter Apps Unipessoal Limited is the parent company that owns and operates Portugal Tattoo. Portugal Tattoo is a subsidiary brand of Drifter Apps Unipessoal Limited. All references to Portugal Tattoo in this document refer to services and operations conducted by Drifter Apps Unipessoal Limited under the Portugal Tattoo brand name.
Platform Role and Artist Policies
Portugal Tattoo operates as a booking platform that facilitates connections between customers and tattoo artists. While we process payments for bookings, refund policies are primarily determined by individual artists. Each artist may have their own cancellation and refund policies, which are displayed at the time of booking. By making a booking through our platform, you agree to the artist's specific refund and cancellation policy for that booking. Portugal Tattoo is not responsible for the quality of tattoos, outcomes, or artist workmanship. Refunds related to tattoo quality or outcomes are matters to be resolved directly between you and the artist.
Booking Deposits
Many artists require a deposit to secure your booking. Deposit amounts and refundability vary by artist and are clearly stated at the time of booking. Deposits are typically non-refundable if you cancel your appointment, unless otherwise specified in the artist's policy. If an artist cancels your appointment, deposits are generally fully refundable. Refund processing times for deposits are typically 5-10 business days, depending on your payment method and financial institution.
Customer Cancellations
If you need to cancel or reschedule your booking, you must do so according to the artist's cancellation policy, which is displayed at the time of booking. Cancellation policies typically include: (a) Full refund if cancelled more than 48-72 hours before the appointment; (b) Partial refund or credit if cancelled within 24-48 hours before the appointment; (c) No refund for same-day cancellations or no-shows. To cancel or reschedule, contact the artist directly through the platform messaging system or use the cancellation feature in your booking dashboard. Refunds will be processed according to the artist's policy and may take 5-10 business days to appear in your account.
Artist Cancellations
If an artist cancels your booking, you are entitled to a full refund of any amounts paid, including deposits. The refund will be processed automatically to your original payment method within 5-10 business days. If an artist cancels due to emergency circumstances, we will work with you to reschedule your appointment if desired, or process a full refund. Portugal Tattoo is not liable for any additional costs you may incur due to an artist cancellation, such as travel expenses.
Refund Eligibility and Timelines
Refunds are eligible based on the specific artist's policy for your booking and the circumstances of the cancellation. Generally, refunds are processed within 5-10 business days after approval. The timeline may vary based on: (a) Your payment method (credit card refunds may take longer than bank transfers); (b) Your financial institution's processing times; (c) The specific circumstances of the cancellation. Once a refund is processed, it may take additional time for the funds to appear in your account, depending on your bank or payment provider. We will send you a confirmation email when your refund has been processed.
Processing Fees
Portugal Tattoo may charge a small processing fee for refunds in certain circumstances, such as same-day cancellations or cancellations that result in significant administrative costs. Any processing fees will be clearly disclosed at the time of booking and in the artist's cancellation policy. Platform service fees paid to Portugal Tattoo are generally non-refundable, except in cases where the artist cancels the booking or in other exceptional circumstances as determined by Portugal Tattoo in its sole discretion.
Disputes About Refunds
If you have a dispute regarding a refund, please first contact the artist directly through the platform messaging system to attempt to resolve the issue. If you are unable to resolve the dispute with the artist, you may contact Portugal Tattoo customer support at legal@portugaltattoo.com. We will review your case and work to facilitate a resolution. However, please note that: (a) Portugal Tattoo acts as a platform intermediary and is not responsible for disputes regarding tattoo quality or outcomes; (b) Refund disputes related to the tattoo itself (quality, design, healing, etc.) must be resolved directly with the artist; (c) We can only assist with disputes related to booking cancellations, payment processing, or platform-related issues. For disputes about tattoo quality or outcomes, we encourage you to review the artist's portfolio and reviews before booking, as these are the primary tools available to assess an artist's work.
Chargebacks
If you initiate a chargeback with your bank or credit card company, Portugal Tattoo will provide relevant transaction information to your financial institution. However, we encourage you to first attempt to resolve any issues through our customer support or directly with the artist, as chargebacks can result in additional fees and may impact your ability to use the platform in the future. Unjustified chargebacks may result in account suspension or termination. If you have concerns about a transaction, please contact us at legal@portugaltattoo.com before initiating a chargeback.
Exceptional Circumstances
In exceptional circumstances, such as natural disasters, pandemics, or other events beyond reasonable control that prevent the artist from providing services, refund policies may be adjusted. Portugal Tattoo reserves the right to modify refund policies in such circumstances and will communicate any changes to affected customers. In cases where the platform itself experiences technical issues that prevent booking completion, full refunds will be provided regardless of artist policies.
No Refund for Completed Services
Once a tattoo service has been completed, refunds are generally not available through the platform. Portugal Tattoo is a booking platform and is not responsible for the quality, outcome, or appearance of completed tattoos. If you have concerns about a completed tattoo, you must address these directly with the artist. We strongly encourage all customers to: (a) Review artist portfolios and previous work before booking; (b) Read customer reviews and ratings; (c) Communicate clearly with artists about design expectations before the appointment; (d) Verify artist credentials and licensing. The platform provides reviews and ratings as tools to help you make informed decisions, but the platform is not responsible for tattoo outcomes.
